That is the question...
And, fortunately, the answer is simple.
As it turns out, the truth about whether grains should be in the diet of humans or not has been there all along...
The answer was there even before the eating of grains became a cause of perplexity and controversy. What a relief!
The truthful answer comes to us directly from the One who designed and created our bodies.
And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
What was the original diet?
The the original diet was grains and fruit!
Then came the vegetables...
Later, after sin came into our world, greens and vegetables were added since we would not have access to the tree of life:
...thou shalt eat the herb of the field.
Grains are healthy and nourishing...
Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods, prepared in as simple and natural a manner as possible, are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a power of endurance, and a vigor of intellect, that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet.—The Ministry of Healing, 295, 296, 1905.
In grains, fruit, vegetables, and nuts are to be found all the food elements that we need. —Counsels on Diet and Foods, 363.2
That forever settles the grain question for me. Grains are a daily staple in my diet.
That being said, I realize that many people are having serious health issues that disappear when they stop eating grains. I can relate! I have been "wheat-free," "gluten-free," and even "mostly grain-free" because there were certain symptoms that always came after eating grains.
There are reasons for this!
In an upcoming post, I'll share what I've learned so far about why this is so and also some simple solutions that have helped me be able to eat grains freely.
See you soon!

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Psalm 103:1-3
If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
